The proposed new version of the DSM was unveiled recently, to the great consternation of many. Some see this as a way to more accurately diagnose people who suffer from disorders and get them the scientifically-based treatment they deserve. Others worry that the new diagnostic categories cast too wide a net and may pathologize some atypical but healthy behaviors.
